That is about $2.50 a day and $900.52 a year. Left running for five years the stack costs $4,502.60. Redirect the same $75.04 a month into a savings account earning 4% APY and after five years you would hold roughly $4,975, meaning about $473 of that came from interest rather than your pocket.
One quirk worth knowing: weekly charges are multiplied by 4.33 to reach a monthly figure and by 52 to reach a yearly one. Because 4.33 × 12 = 51.96 rather than 52, a weekly item's yearly total is fractionally higher than its monthly total times twelve. A $6/week coffee plan reads as $25.98/month but $312/year.
Monthly vs Annual Billing: Where the Break-Even Sits
Most annual plans are priced at roughly ten months of the monthly rate, so the yearly option only wins if you keep the service long enough. The break-even point is simple: months of use needed = annual price ÷ monthly price. Prepay for a year and cancel before that many months and you have handed the company money for time you never used.

The Rotation Math

The catch is discipline: rotation only pays off if you actually cancel each month instead of letting the charge quietly renew.
Making a Cancellation Stick
- The FTC finalized a "click-to-cancel" rule in 2024, but a federal appeals court vacated it in mid-2025, so there is no single national requirement for easy cancellation. Some states, including California and New York, keep their own automatic-renewal laws.
- A virtual or single-merchant card number lets you cap or freeze a charge if a service makes cancelling difficult.
